Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my flowers to you?
You can either drop off your flowers to us, or schedule a convenient pick-up, and we’ll come to you (based on availability). We make the process simple so your flowers arrive safely and ready for preservation. To maintain the freshest possible condition, your flowers must arrive at our studio within 1-3 days of your special occasion.
Do you accept flowers from events other than from weddings?
Yes! We accept flowers from any special occasion!
Will my framed pressed flower art look exactly like my bouquet?
Each flower undergoes its own unique transformation during the pressing process. As it dries and flattens, it develops a distinctive color, delicate texture, and timeless beauty that becomes part of a lasting botanical composition.
Colors may shift naturally as the flowers dry:
• Red flowers often deepen into rich burgundy
• Some taupe or toffee tones can turn a soft, unexpected purple
• Whites typically soften into warm cream
• Light pinks may shift toward lavender or fade to ivory
Because of the gentle flattening process, the final pressed flowers will also look different from their fresh form — more delicate and flatter. Each pressed flower’s natural changes create a one-of-a-kind piece of botanical art. With age your flowers will naturally gently fade and soften in color, but with proper care, your preserved florals will remain beautiful for many, many years to come.
Do you color correct the flowers after pressing?
No, we do not use powders, dyes, sprays or paints to color correct your flowers. Our floral preservation process is completely natural. While your flowers are meticulously cared for during pressing, some color change is expected. Over time, they will develop a soft, vintage appearance that reflects their natural aging process.
What add-ons do you offer?
We offer framed floral monograms and smaller sized frames, which make beautiful gifts allowing you to share and celebrate your preserved florals in a meaningful way.
Do you need my entire bouquet?
Yes, and for frames larger than 16x20 or multiple add-on frames sometimes we need additional flowers such as bridesmaids bouquets or centerpieces. The more flowers the better, so that we pick the very best for your finished piece.
How long does the preservation process take?
Each piece is carefully pressed, reconstructed, and thoughtfully designed by hand. This meticulous process requires approximately 12-18 weeks for your custom piece to be completed. We will share updates along the way so you can follow the progress of your flowers as they move through each stage of the preservation process.
How do I care for my pressed floral art?
To preserve the beauty of your pressed floral art, we recommend that you keep it out of direct sunlight and away from moisture (such as in bathrooms). With age your flowers will naturally gently fade and soften in color, but with proper care, your preserved florals will remain beautiful for many, many years to come.
Are there any bouquets you will not accept?
We do not accept bouquets made up of a single flower variety or all-white bouquets without greenery. White blooms are especially delicate and tend to brown easily during the preservation process. Including a mix of florals and greenery allows for the best possible results and longevity of your finished piece.
Are there any flowers that are not suitable for pressing?
Yes. Some flowers are not ideal for the very flat finish required for pressed floral artwork. Blooms with high water content or very thick structures do not press well and may not produce optimal results. These include, but are not limited to, large lilies, banksia, certain succulents, wheat, and thick branches.
What do you do with the leftover flowers?
We make every effort to incorporate as many flowers from your bouquet as possible into your finished piece. In many cases, however, the size of the design does not allow for every individual stem to be included. If you would like any remaining flowers returned with your completed artwork, we are happy to accommodate that request. Please let us know when submitting your order.
Can you add paper products in the frame?
Yes, you may include paper products such as vows, invitations, poems, photos, obituaries etc., as long as the item is flat enough to fit inside the frame - it can be added.
Can you use my saved, air dried flower bouquet to create a framed piece?
Unfortunately, we cannot. Dried flowers are extremely fragile and would fall apart in the flower press. We can recreate your bouquet with fresh flowers to create a new keepsake.
How far in advance should I book?
You should book with us as soon as possible, ideally at the same time as securing other vendors.
